The Cary Town Band (Cary, NC) is reminiscent of the turn of the 20th century bands led by Sousa, Goldman, and others who popularized band concerts all over America. Presenting concerts recreating that bygone era, the band plays marches from many nations, circus music, waltzes, rags, polkas, famous overtures, and other “pops” classical music of the 1860’s to 1920’s with an occasional nod to more modern fare. Picture this band (as above) or in classic period uniforms at events sponsored by your organization. Providing indoor and outdoor concerts for patriotic events, ceremonies, and civic events, the band is available for performances. The Cary Town Band rehearses on Thursday evenings. If you would like to be a part of a "town band" experience, or to add such an experience to your event, or just for more information, please contact director Stuart Holoman. Latest News:

Next ConcertAt the TheaterFriday, March 12, 2010 7:30 PM Do you like movies? Do you recall that music that played behind the scene? Come remember some of your favorites as the band brings that music to the foreground - still wonderful even without the actors and the scenery. Hear the River Kwai and Lawrence, and Liz and Richard (Taylor and Burton) on the beach. Don't forget the Looney Tunes before the feature as Elmer (or was it Bugs) directs that strange symphony in an unforgettable von Suppe Poet and Peasant Overture. Then there's Prokofiev's little tune that pops up in many flicks. And there's more to tickle your memory. Come enjoy an evening of music At the Theater. ![]() |
