In general, band members are responsible for handling their own instruments and music stands. In adddition, for the band to operate effectively, there are a large number of "ROADIE" activities that must be accomplished prior to and after rehearsals and concerts. The following tables list such activities, when they occur, and the members or member instrument sections generally assigned to aid in such roadie work. In each section there is a designated section Roadie Coordinator who should be responsible for assuring that section assignments are accomplished. Coordinators should encourage the first section members who arrive at an event to take care the assigned pre-event roadie activities. Auxilliary and percussion equipment needs to be moved from the equipment storage space (currently the Band Van) to the rehearsal/performance area and back after the event. The exact list of such equipment is dependent on the music being rehearsed/peformed and the venue of the event. In general, such "ROADIE" assistance is again the responsibility of all members collectively. Music collection after concerts or events is also the responsibility of the section Roadie Coordinator. Immediately after an event, each member should gather their music distributed for the event, both played and unplayed, place it in the corresponding concert folder and pass the complete concert folder to the section Roadie Coordinator, who will gather all such folders and pass them to the music librarian. |
